Murray River Trails

Departing from Renmark, Murray River Trails operate expedition cruise 

style touring for small groups with ecoluxe houseboats up through one 

of the most picturesque stretches of river, within the Riverland Ramsar 

Wetland of international importance. 

Exploring a 70km stretch of river valley that spans 10km wide, their expert guides take you to the hidden gems,

 where you’ll discover spectacular scenery, diverse birdlife, iconic wildlife, and come away with a greater sense

 of understanding of Australia’s largest river system. This is an expedition in comfort, all cabins feature en-suite 

bathrooms and each evening you’ll celebrate the best of the regions food and wine with a menu designed by 

pioneering native food chef Andrew Fielke. 

Their two all-inclusive 4-day signature tours depart seasonally with weekly departures on  Mondays and Tuesdays. 

Murray River Walk- May to September 

One of the Great Walks of Australia, this is an easy multiday walk combining the adventure of a through hike with

 the comfort of an unpack once holiday as your accommodation cruises upstream to the daily destination. With 

no marked trails, guides lead a small group of up to 10 guests along peaceful waterways, creeks and billabongs,

 though redgum forests and over the red ochre cliffs that offer spectacular views of the river valley. 

Murray River Safari- March, April, October, November 

Celebrating the best of Spring and Autumn you’ll explore the diverse habitats of the river valley to increase 

chances of encounters with a range of wildlife including 180 species of birds. This tour features early morning 

and late afternoon excursions with houseboat cruising in the middle of the day. Excursions include short walks, 

driving tour around the outback lakes with birdwatching, pontoon boat cruising and optional kayaking. All 

activities are rated easy.
