North Terrace, Adelaide's Cultural Boulevard
Whether you have a spare 10 minutes or a whole day North Terrace has something for everyone. Known locally as the Cultural Boulevard of the City, North Terrace offers far more than its beautiful Art Gallery and Museums, although these attractions certainly feature.
The West End of North Terrace is home to Adelaide’s medical precinct which includes the state of the art Royal Adelaide Hospital & Medical Research Centre. The modern Adelaide Convention Centre sits opposite the oldest church in Adelaide, The Anglican Holy Trinity Church established in 1838. Heading west we come to the historical Adelaide Railway Station which is also home to the Adelaide Casino. On the corner of North Terrace and King William Street is South Australia’s Parliament House.
The Cultural section begins with Government House, the War Memorial and the State Library, which itself host’s many wonderful exhibitions. Both the South Australian Museum and the Migration Museum offer a rich array of artefacts and history and are an absolute must see. The Art Gallery of South Australia, Ayres House and the Botanical Gardens sit near the end of North Terrace. At the very end of North Terrace you’ll find the National Wine Centre, here you can taste some of South Australia’s finest wine and learn about wine production.
