Langmeil Freedom Experience
A unique blend of Barossa cultural traditions and world-class winemaking. Sample rare and exclusive Langmeil wines at the home of what is believed to be the world’s oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard. Savour “The Freedom” 1843 Shiraz as the high point of an intimately hosted winery and vineyard experience.
The Lindner family of Langmeil winery has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food, wine and community for six generations.
The vineyard and winery are situated on the picturesque banks of the North Para River, at the site of the original Langmeil (“the long mile”) village, settled in the 1840s.
The winery is home to a historic collection of original ironstone buildings, complete with a blacksmith, cobbler shop, butchery, bakery and the village well. The cellar door is located in the old stables and offers a friendly welcoming atmosphere with helpful staff and superb wines to enjoy.
The Freedom experience is a unique hosted tour which takes you on a wander through the rows of gnarly old Shiraz vines, planted in 1843 and believed to be the longest surviving Shiraz vineyard anywhere in the world.
The tour also incorporates a special tasting of Langmeil’s premium range of wines in the magnificent Freedom cellar below the cobbler’s shop. A sampling of The Freedom 1843 Shiraz is the highpoint of this intimate vineyard and winery experience.
