Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari

Your KI wildlife adventure starts at Christmas Cove, Penneshaw.  Cruise past beautiful island scenery to observe the dolphins, seals, sea lions, eagles, other birdlife and possibly whales, on a daily 75 minute coastal safari, or take the two hour swim and snorkelling safari and join the wild dolphins or seals in the water.

Located at the Christmas Cove marina, only 500 metres from the Penneshaw ferry terminal, this is the perfect place to start your Kangaroo Island marine wildlife safari.

Tours operate daily in state of the art stable vessels – actually safety vessels, typically used in rescue situations.  You will have a safe and comfortable ride that’s fun for the whole family.

The Coastal Safari is a 75 minute tour travelling in sheltered waters close to the beautiful coastline, enjoying each encounter with the local wildlife and learning about the island’s fascinating exploration history and its ancient geological formations.

The wildlife action is only minutes away from the marina.  Wild dolphins or seals are guaranteed on every tour, you will certainly see plenty of seabirds, perhaps sea eagles and ospreys amongst them, while the whales (Southern Right and Humpback) are regular seasonal arrivals.  Frenchman’s Rock, Hog Bay, Dolphin Cove, Cuttlefish Bay, Kangaroo Head and Snapper Head are just some of the place names that add extra colour and interest to the tour.

The two hour Swim with Dolphin/Seal Safari is a not to be missed adventure for those who want a closer and more personal interaction with the friendly and curious dolphins and seals.  Your wetsuits, masks, snorkels and fins are all provided.
